By using the Geographic Information System (GIS) Add-on, you can add intelligence to these map overviews by providing icons that represent the actual positions of your items, such as your plant or equipment locations.

• This Smart UI GIS add-on consists of the following three main components:
  • The GIS datasource, stores the defined items and their hierarchy in the SmartUI server, along with their icons and other configuration.
  • The GIS Mapping Control maps the defined items of a specific GIS datasource on a map. It provides navigation abilities so that users can view and/or interact with these items.
  • The Coordinate Agent is used to drive and manage the location property of a map item dynamically.
