How can I enable corrective maintenance functions to the motion system?
Mitsubishi Electric introduces different solutions that enable the traceability of errors and process control through integrated functions in the MR-J5 servo and dedicated modules, minimizing reaction times to potential failures and consequent machine downtime.
Functions:
Servo System Recorder Function:
This function is integrated into the Motion Module RD78GH/RD78G of the MELSEC iQ-R, enabling the collection of precise data on motion control. To activate the function, simply connect the servo amplifier, and all axis control data can be automatically collected when an alarm occurs.
Drive Recorder Function:
Integrated into the servos and enhanced in the new Servo MR-J5 platform, this function allows you to record conditions before and after the occurrence of an alarm (for a specific period) and save them in the non-volatile memory of the servo amplifier. The last 16 alarms’ waveforms and other information, including speed, torque, current, pulses, and other movement variables, are stored. These waveforms and data are then compared using GX LogViewer, enabling the quick identification of the root cause of problems.
Additionally, a corrective maintenance system can be implemented by integrating the following into the system:
Recorder Module (RD81RC96): This module scans all labeled data of the MELSEC iQ-R modular PLC CPU and collects them with timestamps.
Vision System: This allows obtaining and analyzing visual information of problems. Using a camera enables a visual check of the system’s condition before and after an alarm, facilitating the identification of the failure cause and minimizing downtime. This application can be replicated across different markets, providing added value in workstations where tools need to perform tedious mechanical processes. The integration of the camera completes the system, making it ideal for precision operations such as assembly, finishing, insertion, or cutting.
System Configuration:
The system configuration includes the following components:
- Recorder Module RD81RC96 (or Motion Module RD78GH/RD78G)
- Servo MR-J5
- Vision System
- Network Storage
